Nora Gets Her Tonsils Out

Nora got her tonsils out this morning. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30am to get everything ready for her surgery at 7:30. She was pretty cheery, if a bit hungry, as we waited for everything to happen.

The surgery went really well. We were worried about our little baby but she came through just fine. She's currently sipping on cool water, eating jello and watching some videos on the laptop. When she first came out she was really zonked but she's perking up now. Apparently the next few days will bring more pain and discomfort but she's doing okay right now.

Hey, Nora, you take care of yourself. Make sure Mom gives you lots of popsicles and all the good things people get to eat when they get their tonsils out!! I wish I could "fold up" like you do in the top picture! :-) Linda

I'm sure you're all glad that is over...poor girl...but hope she doesn't have too much pain in recovery. Boy...those hospital gowns treat everyone the same don't they!?!

What a bummer, Nora!! Better now, though, than later in life (when I hear that it's a much WORSE recovery!). Hope you feel better soon and that mom & dad give you some ice cream to help out! :)

BTW - I love those cute little bunzies, too!! :)

aww, Nora...you look so precious in your hospital gown. j & k ... that is a "first" no parent wants to encounter- -general anesthesia for their little one. but what a relief it went well and hopefully it makes her feel lots better in the long run :)

She is eating great and drinking lots. She's had several ice cream, 1 popcicle, several jello, several pudding, and 2 kinds of soup. She loves her food and tonsils aren't going to stop her. :) Gramma M

Glad all went well for Nora. It is a scary thing to have your child go through surgery. I was only 3 when I had my tonsils taken out and believe it or not I remember a couple of things about that day...and they aren't bad things. Hopefully she will be feeling great in no time at all.
